Police Arrest Man With Gun at Hospital in Providence

Providence police arrested a man with a gun at Roger Williams Hospital in Providence on Thursday morning.

The suspect, who is being charged with lacking a required carry permit, was in a third-floor room when detained.

About Incident

Police were reportedly called to Roger Williams shortly before 8 AM for a report of a man with a gun.

According to police, they were informed that there might be a suspect with a gun on the third floor. 

Police said they encountered a man sitting in a room with a satchel in his lap, who admitted it contained a firearm.

The suspect was identified as George Morgan, Jr, age 26. 

Police secured the firearm; Morgan is facing one count of failing to have a license required to carry a firearm.
