NEW: Port of Providence to Hold Annual Evacuation Drill

The Port of Providence will conduct its annual evacuation drill at 10 a.m.

Stephen Curtis of Port Facility Operations said, "This again is not only a good time to test each facility’s individual emergency evacuation plan but also to coordinate with the City’s first responders-Providence Fire and Providence EMA."

The Harborside Boulevard gate will be opened during the drill for emergency egress and it will be monitored. Those who leave the facility via Harborside Boulevard will need to re-enter the port at the main checkpoint on Terminal Road.
