Providence College President Rev. Brian Shanley will be leaving at the end of the school year in 2020 -- and the college has announced it is beginning the process of finding his successor. 

The college made the announcement Friday afternoon.

Providence College President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P. ’80, announced today that he will complete his tenure as president of Providence College after fifteen years when his current term ends on June 30, 2020.

In July of this year, Fr. Shanley will become the longest-serving president in Providence College history.  He was chosen as president and began his first five-year term in 2005.  He was subsequently elected to two additional five-year terms by the College Corporation and its Board of Trustees.

 The College will now begin the process of looking for his successor.
