NEW: Providence Police Investigating Report of Noose Found at Joslin Rec Center

The Providence Police are looking into reports that a rope tied as a noose was found at the Joslin Recreation Center in Olneyville.

"Providence Police were made aware of the situation over the weekend and are investigating the incident," said Lindsay Lague, spokesperson for the department. 

"The room has been closed for a number of years. It is a storage room and was opened due to renovations being done to the building."

The city would not provide any further information.
