Providence announced:

"The Providence Public School District announces the cancellation of all schools district-wide tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, due to predicted inclement weather. This decision has been made with the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and faculty as our top priority. Additionally, all afterschool activities will be canceled tomorrow. Only essential employees will be required to report for duty tomorrow. Elementary school students will be sent home from school today with bagged lunches for Tuesday.

While tomorrow will not be designated as a virtual learning day, students are encouraged to engage in independent learning activities to support their academic progress. The Providence Public School District remains committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our families and staff during this time.

The District will put out its standard notification of school closure through the Rhode Island Broadcasters Association, and families will receive an automated phone call through the District’s ParentLink system. It is the District’s intention that early decision-making and proactive announcements will allow families ample time to make childcare arrangements.
