NEW: Providence Schools to Open With 2 Hour Delay Thursday Due to Expected Snow

Providence schools to open on two hour delay Thursday.
Due to the impending snow storm expected to start this evening, Providence schools will open with a two-hour delay on Thursday, February 28.

According to the National Weather Service, Rhode Islanders can expect up to four inches of snow starting on Wednesday night, February 27 and into Thursday.

Mayor Jorge Elorza made the following statement on Facebook Wednesday afternoon.

Due to expected winter storm conditions, Providence Public Schools will be open Thursday, February 28, 2019, with a 2-hour delay. Residents are advised that trash and recycling collection will operate on its regular schedule.
