As GoLocal has reported, in early January, the state was averaging just over 1,400 vaccinations a day — and at even twice the rate, it would take two years to vaccinate 80% of the state’s eligible population.

The Wall Street Journal on Monday reported that Rhode Island has the second-lowest vaccination rate per 100,000 in New England.

The state reported 661 new cases on 11,580 tests on Monday.

Currently, there are 402 people in the hospital, with 53 in the ICU.
