RI Coronavirus Infections Jump 230% Week Over Week — Watch 1 PM Press Conference HERE

The Rhode Island Department of Health announced on Wednesday 173 new COVID-19 cases in the state — a jump of more than 230% over last week. 

On September 22, RIDOH reported just 52 new cases. Now, the state’s total of positive cases stands at 24,748.

The state conducted 9,026 tests on Tuesday, making one of the state’s benchmarks — percent positive prior day — 1.9%. 

Last week, the percent positive average was 1.2%

103 people are currently hospitalized, with 7 in the ICU and 5 on ventilators.
