RIDOH Recommends Closing Gooseberry Beach in Newport for Swimming

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) recommends closing Gooseberry Beach in Newport for swimming because of high bacteria levels.

This is the first beach closure notification of the year from RIDOH.

RIDOH will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout the summer season.
