UPDATED: Suspect in Deadly NY Penn Station Shooting Captured in RI

Police captured a second suspect in a deadly shooting on Monday in New York in Cranston on Thursday.  

According to the New York Post, US Marshals captured Francisco Alsina who was tracked down through his phone in Cranston by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Rhode Island State Police on Thursday at about 10:15 p.m., police sources said.

The Post reported that Alsina was apprehended inside a possible relative’s home on Plainfield Pike and Curry Road where authorities also found a silver .380 handgun inside a bag belonging to Alsina, sources said.

Alsina will be arraigned as a Fugitive from Justice and Possession of Arms by Person who is a Fugitive from Justice in Third Division District Court in Warwick at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 13, 2015. 

Police previously arrested alleged accomplice Vincent Arcona, 27, when he was recognized by doctors at Bronx Lebanon Hospital early Thursday while seeking medical attention, sources said.

Alsina will be charged for possession of a firearm in Rhode Island, but additional charges are pending, police said.

According to a RI State Police statement:

On Thursday, November 12, 2015 at approximately 9:30 PM, members of the Rhode Island State Police/ United States Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force, New York City Police Department and Cranston Police Department arrested Francisco A. Alsina, age 23, of 22 Van Buren Street, 1st floor, Centereach, New York as a Fugitive from Justice from the State of New York and Possession of Arms by Person who is a Fugitive from Justice.
An investigation by the New York City Police Department identified Francisco A. Alsina as a suspect in a homicide that occurred near Penn Station in New York City on Monday, November 9, 2015.  On Thursday, November 12, 2015, the United States Marshals Service New York/ New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task contacted the United States Marshals Service, District of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force regarding a possible address in the City of Cranston where Francisco A. Alsina was staying.  At approximately 9:30 PM, members of the United States Marshal Service, Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force and Cranston Police arrested Francisco A. Alsina without incident at 1448 Plainfield Pike in the City of Cranston.  A subsequent court authorized search of the residence resulted in members seizing a firearm from the property of Francisco A. Alsina.
