NEW: T.F. Greene, RIPTA Cancelling Service in Anticipation of Storm

Commuters may find they have no choice but to wait out today’s snowstorm from home as T.F. Greene, RIPTA and Amtrak have all cancelled service in anticipation of a blizzard that’s expected to drop as much as three feet of snow on the area.

T.F. Green has cancelled all flights for this afternoon and tomorrow and the airport is reminding passengers to check with their specific airline to verify the details of their flight. The airport is anticipating service being restore by late Saturday or Sunday.

Bus service from the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority, meanwhile, has been suspended throughout today while those looking to catch a train will have to do so early as Amtrak will stop services after this morning and the T and Boston Commuter Rail lines will do the same after 3 p.m. In addition, RIPTA closed Kennedy Plaza today at 1 p.m.
