The victim of a shooting in Providence over the weekend has died.

The homicide marks the city’s 37th in seventeen months.

About Incident

Police were called shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday to the area of 15 Glasgow Street for a report of a shooting.

Two men were found shot inside a vehicle.

Both were transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where one of the men was in critical condition.

On Monday, police said that Niberto Diaz, age 21, died from his injuries Sunday night.

The other vehicle occupant, Samuel Corcoran, was treated and released from the hospital.
