West Warwick schools have issued a “shelter-in-place” on Monday morning.

A reported shooting on a residential street prompted the action.

The West Warwick Police Department issued the following statement shortly after 9:30 AM:

The West Warwick Police Department is actively investigating the report of a shooting on Tanglewood Court.

We do not believe that there in any danger to the public at this time.
