Newport St. Patrick's Day Parade Canceled Due to Coronavirus Concerns

The 64th annual Newport St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been canceled. This is the first time the parade has been canceled in its history

As GoLocal reported two weeks ago, Newport Craft Brewing & Distilling’s Brent Ryan and Derek Luke has been named Grand Marshals for the parade. Former Grand Marshals have included the late Governor J. Joseph Garrahy (twice) and former Providence Mayor Joe Doorley.

Previously, the parade has been held in snowstorms and rainstorms.
