Over $185,000 Raised For Providence Center Programs

At The Providence Center's annual "Circle of Stars" even earlier this month, 250 people raised an excess of $185,000 to support mental health and substance services for kids, adults and families. The Providence Center serves more then 13,000 people per year using an annual budget of $44 million to provide services through 13 locations state wide. 

“Access to treatment is critical, but treatment alone isn’t the answer. Recovery isn’t going to happen for someone after just an hour or two a week of counseling appointments. That’s not enough. Recovery happens when treatment is paired with supports that help clients apply their new skills for healthy living" said Dale K. Klatzker, Ph.D., president/CEO of The Providence Center.

Along with receiving the donation, The Providence Center also honored several of its long time supporters including, The United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 328 and Simmy Carter, Associate Director of the Early Childhood Institute and Director of Imagine Preschool, both TPC programs.

“This event allows us to thank those who generously support The Providence Center and to celebrate the positive impact programs like the Early Childhood Institute make on the lives of Rhode Islanders every day" Klatzker went on to say.
