Over 2,000 Volunteers Expected to Take Part in Save The Bay's Coastal Cleanup
Save the Bay's Coastal CleanupOver 2,000 Rhode Island volunteers are expected to take part in Save The Bay’s Coastal Cleanup on Saturday at beaches across the state of Rhode Island.
The cleanup will take place on Saturday, September 16 from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“During last year’s International Coastal Cleanup, 2,205 volunteers removed 14,911 pounds of trash from 87 sites around the state. Of the 151,745 pieces of trash, 32 percent were cigarette butts and wrappers, 24 percent were beverage-related items and 20 percent were tiny pieces of plastic and foam,” said Save The Bay in their press release.
Volunteers will pick up trash and other debris from over 85 sites in Rhode Island.

The fall season signifies the return of pumpkins. Pumpkin beer, pumpkin pie and most of all pumpkin picking.
