Patti Doyle: 14 To Watch in Rhode Island in 2014

Patti Doyle, veteran PR professional
This consummate public relations professional struck out on her own in 2013 after years at RDW Group with Patti Doyle Communications -- and appears to have a packed 2014 on tap.

Doyle's clients include Twin River Casino, which officially launched its table game offerings after a successful 2012 referendum. The gaming licensing process has been slow and deliberate in Massachusetts, which in 2011 approved legislation to allow up to 3 casinos and a slots parlor, promising stiff competition to Twin River once up and operational. Once the fight is on, watch for Doyle to be spearheading the communications strategy from Rhode Island's third-largest source of revenue.

Politics and planes are two more places Doyle will be front and center in 2014. Doyle will serve as spokesperson for Frank Caprio's campaign for a return to the General Treasurer's office. Caprio has walked a fine line to date of speaking out on General Treasurer Gina Raimondo's pension investment strategy, promising lower fee investments than gubernatorial candidate Raimondo's controversial approach.

The runway expansion efforts that started at TF Green Airport in 2013, which Doyle says is a "four year plan, two years in design, and construction slated to begin in 2015," will see Doyle managing not just the public relations, but the task of community relations as well, working with neighboring residents and businesses as the airport officially moves into the 21st century.

On the list of who to watch in 2014, it will be hard not to see Doyle's presence in Rhode Island handling the public relations for some very high-visibility clients.
