Pawtucket Mayor Says PawSox Move is "Devastating”

“The disappointing and devastating news is that they’re not considering staying in Pawtucket,” Mayor Grebien told GoLocalProv.
Grebien and other city officials were briefed late Sunday night about the new owners’ plans for the team.

Grebien still plans on trying to keep the team at McCoy Stadium, the home of the International League PawSox since 1973.
“There’s still value in the site, and I plan on being aggressive, but respectful, in trying to prove to the new owners that McCoy is the place for the PawSox to stay,” said the Mayor.
