PHOTOS: Fire Engulfs Historic East Side Mansion

A fire broke out overnight at a mansion on the East Side of Providence.

The home had been under renovation, and no one was living in the property while the work was being completed. The 6-bedroom Victorian, built in 1897, is complete with a carriage house.

Firefighters responded to a home on Orchard Avenue and extinguished the flames.

The Orchard Avenue area is one of the city's most historic neighborhoods, and the home is directly across the street from Temple Beth-El.

According to authorities, no one was inside at the time of the fire.

The incident is currently under investigation.
