A long-standing East Greenwich funeral home was severely damaged early Sunday morning by a major fire.

Hill Funeral Home located at 822 Main Street in East Greenwich was established in the 1800s by the Hill family. The damage included the collapse of the roof.
The funeral home merged in recent years with J. F. Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremations, the third-generation funeral home located in Providence.
