We are just the tip of the iceberg. The rally on November 3rd is about more than just supporting transgender and non-binary communities, it is also about opposing an oppressive and hateful administration,” stated Pod Cast Host Evan Jones.
All LGBTQ+ individuals and allies were urged to join in this rally at the Rhode Island State House and speak against these egregious actions. The formatted event included selected speakers from various groups within the community and included an “open floor” section for other transgender individuals to voice their concerns during this peaceful demonstration.
“This rally is a direct response to the Trump Administration’s latest attack on trans rights and visibility. Human rights are being questioned. The administration should not be able to erase the existence of trans people and roll back the civil rights that we have all fought so hard for," shared rally supporter Cam Hewey.
The rally titled “ Rally for Transgender Rights - We Will Not be Erased,” took place just outside the state house.
The rally comes just a couple of weeks after it was reported that President Donald Trump was considering a rollback of transgender rights.
