Shortly after 9 AM Monday morning, police were called to Boylston Avenue off of Hope Street for a report of an unknown individual in a resident’s yard.

Police said they met with the resident, who said he saw an individual wearing all black — with a black ski mask on — in his yard.

The suspect reportedly tried to get in an SUV in front of the house and drive off, but the vehicle would not start and the suspect took off on foot toward Olney Street.

When police arrived and ran a search on the vehicle plates, it reportedly came back tied to another stolen vehicle.

Police said they received additional calls for two masked individuals running through back yards in the area, and additional officers were called to the scene.

Multiple officers chased the suspects on foot over several blocks, and one was ultimately apprehended on Doyle Avenue.

The suspect —  a 16-year-old juvenile was apprehended — and taken to Central Station for questioning.
