About Incident
Police said that due to recent disturbances and incidents of assault related to Passion Lounge on Plainfield Street in Providence, they have increased patrols in the area.
Shortly after 2 AM Saturday morning, police said they observed a black Cadillac Escalade outside the club with Massachusetts license plates, that upon running a background check, did not match the vehicle.
Police said they followed the SUV and conducted a traffic stop on the Rt. 10 on ramp, and observed multiple open containers of alcohol in the vehicle.
The driver, later identified as Alfino Davis, age 45, was wearing a sweatshirt bearing the name of a gang, according to police. It said, "Latin Kings."
At that time, police asked vehicle occupants to step out of the vehicle; police say upon searching the SUV they located a loaded gun with a dozen rounds in a magazine.
Police say the gun was placed in police property and the vehicle was towed.
Davis is facing multiple gun charges in addition to traffic charges.
