Police Make Multiple Drug Arrests in Downtown Providence Overnight

Providence Police made multiple drug arrests in downtown Providence overnight.

Shortly after midnight, police on patrol on Memorial Boulevard at Waterplace Park said they observed a group of individuals by the former Luxe Burger Bar in possession of crack pipes. 

One of the suspects, Jean Dorvil, age 29, admitted to police they had crack cocaine in their possession. 

Police say Dorvil and two individuals were detained and facing charges. 


Kennedy Plaza

At approximately 2 AM Tuesday morning in Kennedy Plaza, police on patrol said they saw a group of individuals at a bus stop, with one person wearing a cross-body bag acting erratically. 

Police say the suspect began to walk away, at which time officers asked about the contents of the bag, which police say are often known to contain drugs or guns. 

Suspected narcotics and paraphernalia were found in the bag; the suspect, Darnell Taylor, age 45, was arrested and detained.
