Progreso Latino to Host 37th Annual Gala

Progreso Latino will present their 37th Annual Gala on September 19th. The event will be at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in Cranston.

Over 500 guests are expected to attend. The evening will feature cocktails, a short speaking program, dinner, and a Flamenco performance. Ramon Borges-Méndez, PhD of Clark University, will serve as keynote speaker.

This year’s gala’s theme is Building a Resilient Community with Financial Literacy. The theme recognizes the agency’s efforts to assist hundreds of families address their financial and housing issues.

Progreso Latino is the largest community based organization in Rhode Island serving Latinos and immigrants. Progreso Latino offers social services and advocacy programs that help individuals and families address barriers and achieve their life goals.  We make a difference in the lives of people across the age spectrum with bilingual pre-school programs, adult education classes such as ESL and GED, bilingual wellness and senior programs to serve the uninsured, immigration and social services, and a food bank to help people in need among other things.
