Prov. School Board Announces Search Committee for New Superintendent

The committee will be co-chaired by Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council Executive Director John Simmons and Providence School Board Vice President Nicholas Hemond.

We have developed a talented search committee and I look forward to working closely with them to find a candidate who will bring an innovative approach to strengthening our school system and setting our children up for success," said Mayor Jorge Elorza.
Next Steps
A schedule of search committee public listening sessions will be announced shortly.
“The Providence School Board is committed to listening to the Providence community as we work to select our next superintendent. Over the coming months, the search committee will be hosting a number of community listening events. We look forward to hearing from our community members about how we can move our schools forward and the qualities and skills they would like to see in our next superintendent," said search committee co-chair and Providence School Board Vice President Nicholas Hemond.
The Providence School Board intends to develop a list of finalists recommended by the search committee by the end of February, and to interview finalists and select a superintendent in March of 2016.
