Providence Police Investigating Body Found Along Woonasquatucket River & Stabbing Outside Nightclub

Providence Police are investigating a body found along the Woonasquatucket River, as well as a stabbing outside of a Providence nightclub on Thursday night. 

The incidents — which are unrelated — come following a shooting outside a Chinese restaurant in the city earlier in the evening.

According to police, a deceased body was found in a wooded area along the Woonasquatucket River shortly after 9 P.M.

Police are awaiting an examination from the state medical examiner’s office. There is no additional information at this time. 

Stabbing Outside Club

Shortly after midnight, a 34-year-old man was seriously injured when he was stabbed several times on Manton Avenue. 

Police were told the stabbing took place outside of Legacy Lounge.
