Providence Police: Two Shootings with One Man Killed and Two Wounded Just Minutes and Blocks Apart

There were two shootings in Providence just blocks and minutes apart on Thursday night. 

One man was killed and another was wounded at a shooting at Orms and Douglas Streets according to Providence Police Major David Lapatin.

The wounded man is in serious condition.

Smith Street Shooting

Just minutes earlier man was shot outside GI Joe’s convenience store on Smith Street — this is the second shooting outside GI Joe’s in the past few weeks. At Thursday night's Smith Street shooting a GoLocal photo shows more than a dozen shell casings on the ground.

On September 18, GoLocal reported  GI Joe Convenience on Smith Street is the latest site for a Friday night shooting in Providence.

GoLocal’s Richard McCaffrey was onsite minutes after the shooting.

According to Providence Police, one man was shot and is now in surgery.
