NEW: Providence Receives An 'F' for Smog

Providence County has received an "F" for smog in the latest State of the Air report from the American Lung Association released Wednesday.

The area did better in terms of particle pollution, getting a grade of a B. The capital city also did not make the most polluted cities list.

Based on the report, Providence has a weighted average of 5.5 high ozone days per year. High is not good in this case as it implies high smog levels. People with asthma, chronic bronchitis, cardiovascular disease, and emphysema can be very negatively affected by these days.
