Governor Gina Raimondo has ordered all Rhode Island flags to be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday in recognition of the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

“On this anniversary we remember and honor the innocent lives lost in the September 11th attacks eighteen years ago, and the courageous first responders who risked their lives to save others. In their memory, we must continue to work toward creating a world free from fear, violence, and hate,” said Raimondo.

Raimondo also asks Rhode Islanders to lower their flags as a mark of respect.
