People could be seen at Providence recreation areas playing soccer and basketball at multiple facilities across the city.

Raimondo has repeatedly told Rhode Islanders who violate social distancing restrictions to "knock it off."

"As residents continue to use parks and green spaces across the city during this time, they are encouraged to follow the 5-person limit on all gatherings, social distance at least 6 feet apart and visit parks within their neighborhood," said the Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza's office.

Councilman Michael Correia posted Sunday, "Just took a ride through the city, shocked at what I’ve seen. It’s up to all of us to slow the spread of COVID-19. You should not be playing soccer, basketball etc. Stay home...."

In one photo, more than a dozen individuals were playing soccer at one Providence field.
