Michael Corso over the past two decades has been able to use his relationships and political connections to make millions in fees from historic tax credits, payments on the 38 Studios deal, and movie tax credits -- all taxpayer sponsored programs. His success in part was fueled by his close relationship with Gordon Fox, the former Speaker of the House and now an inmate in federal prison.

As GoLocal reported in 2012;
The Providence lawyer who pledged more than $14 million in Rhode Island motion picture tax credits that had not actually been issued as collateral in order to obtain an $8.5 million loan for Curt Schilling’s 38 Studios is now playing a behind-the-scenes role in a Michael Corrente movie that is slated to receive $625,000 in state tax credits," GoLocalProv has learned.

Traini also represented a Boston attorney who was convicted of conspiracy and obstruction of justice in 1985.
According to the New York Times, “A lawyer who has represented the man prosecutors say heads the city's organized crime syndicate was found guilty today of conspiracy to obstruct justice by persuading a witness not to testify before a Federal grand jury. The lawyer, William J. Cintolo, was found not guilty on two other counts of obstruction of justice involving the witness, a bartender.” Traini was Cintolo's defense attorney.
The Times story went on to report, “Mr. Cintolo, who has served as a lawyer for Gennaro J. Angiulo, who prosecutors say is the leader of organized crime in Boston, faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a fine of $10,000. Mr. Cintolo, 38 years old, could also be disbarred for his role in getting the witness not to testify against Mr. Angiulo in a loan-sharking investigation.” Cintolo represented Anguilo -- the Angiulo family lead the Boston operation of the Patriarca crime family.
