Rhode Island NEA Official Arrested

John Leidecker, an assistant executive director of the NEA of Rhode Island, was arrested by the Bristol and State Police on charges on impersonating Bristol State Representative Doug Gablinske, according to 630 WPRO, a GoLocalProv media partner.

Gablinske said that Leidecker, 54, impersonated him, creating an e-mail address in Gablinske's name and sending e-mails directly contradicting several of Gablinske's stated political opinions.

Gablinske was one of several Statehouse Democrats ousted in September's primary, due to a union-backed effort. He ran as a write-in candidate in the general election.
