RI Leaders' Top Questions for Raimondo Administration on Botched UHIP Launch

The Rhode Island General Assembly announced last week that the House Oversight and Finance Committees would hold a hearing on Thursday on the “botched” launch of the the $364-million health IT project “UHIP,” which the state is currently seeking an additional $124 million from the federal government to continue to rollout. 

Now, Rhode Island political leaders have the chance to ask what went wrong.

Committee chairs Representatives Marvin Abbey and Patricia Serpa sent a list of both requests for information as well as specific questions (see below) to Secretary of Health and Human Services Elizabeth Roberts, Department of Administration Director Michael DiBiase, and Department of Human Services Director Melba DePena.

The hearing is open to questions from committee members (including Republican Representative Patricia Morgan, who shared her inquiries below); RI GOP Chair Brandon Bell released the party’s set of questions pertaining to the costs and efficacy of the program on Wednesday.
