RI State Police Arrest Two Men and Seize Three Handguns

Rhode Island State Police announced that on Tuesday at approximately 11:40 PM, Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks conducted a motor vehicle stop for a speeding violation on Route 146 North in the Town of Lincoln.

According to police, during a search of the vehicle, a loaded .45 caliber M1911 pistol, hatchet and stun gun were located in a backpack where the front seat passenger was seated. That passenger was identified as Jacob Robert, age 21, of Woodstock, Connecticut.

Troopers also located a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver and a 9-millimeter ghost gun in a backpack where the lone rear seat passenger was seated, both guns were loaded. That passenger was identified as Kaleb O'Connell, age 22, of Dayville, CT.

Both Robert and O'Connell were placed into custody without incident and transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks pending morning arraignment at Third District Court on the following charges:

Jacob Robert - 1. License Required for Carrying a Pistol, 2. Weapons other than Firearms (two counts). Robert was also wanted on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Scituate Police Department for Eluding.

 

Kaleb O'Connell - 1. Manufacture, Sell, Purchase, or Possession of a Ghost or 3-D Gun,

2. License Required for Carrying a Pistol (two counts).
