RI State Police Colonel Assumpico Receives Patriot Award

Rhode Island State Police Superintendent Colonel Ann Assumpico has been awarded the Patriot Award for “contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve Force.”

“We want each of these troopers and their families to know that we’re here for them – and always will be. The Rhode Island State Police is committed to supporting our service members and their families. It is both our duty and our privilege to provide them with the time and support they need to serve,” said Assumpico.

She was formally presented the award during a ceremony at Rhode Island State Police Headquarters.

Receiving The Award

The award is bestowed by the U.S. Department of Defense’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) to employers who provide exceptional levels of support to employees while serving in the National Guard and Reserve.

Assumpico was nominated for the award by State Police Corporal Kristopher Lagor, who also is a Staff Sergeant assigned to the 243rd Regional Training Institute (RTI) of the Rhode Island National Guard.
