RI State Police Team to Run Boston Marathon in Support of “Cops for Kids with Cancer”

For the 19th straight year, members of the Rhode Island State Police will run in the Boston Marathon to raise money for the  “Cops for Kids with Cancer” charity.

This year’s team includes two veteran marathoners – Sergeant Peter Cambio and Acting Corporal Roupen Bastajian, as well as four other Troopers running the marathon for the first time – Trooper Austin LaRiviere, Trooper Tyler Adams, Trooper Ed Markowski, Trooper Daniel Fanous.  

With just over a month left before the marathon, the team has already raised $10,000, and have a goal of $15,000.

The Boston Marathon is set to take place Monday, April 20.

About Cops for Kids With Cancer

The Cops for Kids with Cancer program is designed to help families dealing with the challenges of a child who has cancer.

Last year, State Police members presented checks of $5,000 to five different families who were affected by cancer.
