RIDEM Identifies Man Who Drowned in Kayaking Accident at Lincoln Woods

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management has identified the name of the man that died at Lincoln Woods State Park in a kayaking accident.

“DEM is identifying Jason Robinson, 40, of Cranston, as the drowning victim at Lincoln Woods State Park yesterday. We offer sincere sympathies to Mr. Robinson’s loved ones. 

On Saturday, in announcing the accident, RIDEM spokesperson Mike Healey said, “Divers recovered a body at 4:50 PM about 50 feet from shore. The victim is a male believed to be in his 40s. His kayak overturned …a considerable distance from the beach in about 15 feet of water. We will identify the decedent when we have notified his family.”

“With the heatwave causing so many RIers to flock to the water today, we also urge everyone to be careful,” added RIDEM.
