Rodio Named Chair of McKee’s Transition Team, Lt. Governor Gets Briefings

Rodio is an attorney at the Providence-based law firm, Rodio & Ursillo. Rodio currently serves as legal counsel to the Lt. Governor’s Office and previously worked with McKee during his time as Mayor of Cumberland.
Rodio’s father was the highly respected Joe Rodio, Sr. who unexpectedly died in October of 2015.

McKee’s spokesperson for the transition team is the long-time public relations pro Michael Trainor.
Pandemic Briefing
According to Trainor, on Sunday, McKee received an initial virtual briefing from members of the state COVID response team. The team highlighted the latest updates on the virus management strategy, hospital capacity and vaccination rollout.
According to the New York Times, Rhode Island has the highest rate of infection in the United States and Covid ActNow reported on Monday the state is at its highest level of infection since the pandemic hit in March of 2020.
Data from the CDC shows that the Rhode Island Department of Health has only used 42% of the vaccine doses it has received. And, an investigative report by GoLocal unveiled serious issues with the state's vaccination plan.

McKee spoke jointly Sunday with Speaker Joseph Shekarchi and Senate President Dominick Ruggerio.
McKee emphasized the need to ensure the General Assembly is closely engaged in and briefed on the state’s COVID response, according to Trainor.
