Seekonk Public Safety -- And All Town Buildings -- Close, Citing COVID-Related Staffing Shortages

There are no public safety or governmental buildings currently open in Seekonk. 

Late on Monday, the Seekonk Police Department posted the following; 

Please be advised that due to increased COVID-19 staffing shortages, the Seekonk Public Safety Building as well as all other town buildings will be closed for the remainder of January.

If you need to come to the station to file a report, please call 508-336-8123 when you arrive and an officer will speak to you outside of the building.

In Rhode Island on Monday, United Nurses and Allied Professionals (UNAP) President Lynn Blais has issued a harsh statement against the state’s decision to allow COVID positive workers into hospitals.

Blais, a nurse who heads the state’s largest healthcare union representing more than 7,000 nurses and health professionals, is blasting the newly implemented policy that allows health care workers who are COVID positive to return to work in Rhode Island's state’s hospitals in crisis situations.
