Senator Hanna Gallo Holds onto District 27 Seat

In one of the most high profile State Senate races of the year, Democratic incumbent Hanna Gallo has held on to her seat with a victory over Independent Aram Garabedian and Republican Robert Lancia.

Gallo, who benefited from strong union support in the past, was considered vulnerable after voting in favor of pension reform last year, but Senate leadership made the race a top priority leading up to the election.

Garabedian, the wealthy former State Senator and owner of the Warwick mall, finished second.
