Serve Rhode Island Seeks Volunteers Prior To Blizzard

Serve Rhode Island, the state’s leading resource for volunteerism and community service, is seeking volunteers for it’s Storm Assistance For Elderly and Disabled (SAFE-D) program.

Serve Rhode Island will help the elderly and disabled with shoveling and plowing snow during and after the blizzard that Rhode Island is expected to see Monday evening through Tuesday. The forecast is currently calling for 16 to 24 inches of snow in the Southern New England area.

According to an email sent by the organization, 31 people have already signed up to assist. It is expected that 75 to 100 more will be needed to handle the volume of requests.
