Snookers Security Photo of Alleged Bobblehead Thief -- or "Borrower"
The Providence bar and pool hall Snookers took to social media early Wednesday morning demanding the return of a missing giant bobblehead doll in the likeness of Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden.

“Hi, Facebook Friends! We don’t like when we have to do this, but there are times when it’s necessary. We encourage a good time at Snookers, but there are certain lines that don’t get crossed. Theft is one of them,” posted Snookers.

Snookers made the announcement at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday that their missing bobblehead has been returned.

I’m back! Got back to Snookers at 7am less than 9 hours after I left. For those of you that don’t know the story, let’s just say some friends of mine borrowed me and took me out for the night. We had a great time. They couldn’t have been more respectful, but it’s great to be back home at Snookers where I belong. For those of you that took the whole situation a little too seriously, Snookers is a great place to hang out with friends, play some pool, watch a game, have a few drinks, eat some great food, oh and RELAX! Hope to see you soon!

“Now maybe this wasn’t theft. Maybe it was just some good-natured fun....you know borrowing our Gruden Corona Bobblehead to show your friends what a great time you had at Snookers with every intention of bringing him back. We hope so,” said the post.

No Reward, Deadline Looming

“We’re offering no rewards. We just want Gruden back. If he’s back in good condition by opening tomorrow (11:30 am), we take no further action. In fact, we’ll even delete this post. However, if he’s not back by then, all bets are off,” warned Snookers.

Value of a Giant Corona Gruden Bobblehead?

While some might think a giant (4 foot tall) Jon Gruden Corona Bobblehead is priceless, GoLocal found one up for sale on E-Bay. The price? $450.00.

About Snookers

Snookers was established in 1989 in Providence’s jewelry district on the corner of Chestnut and Clifford Street in a second-floor loft. The original Snookers was a pool hall with 20 pool tables, a game room and a snack bar serving concession type snacks and soft drinks. Eventually, we added a small kitchen serving sandwiches and in 1992 gained a liquor license and installed our first bar.

In 2009 Snookers closed its doors on Clifford Street and moved to its present home at 53 Ashburton Street, about a mile and a half away.

The transformation of the building from the “Damiano Brothers Welding Company” to Snookers' beautiful new facility is dramatic. The interior is an eclectic mix of artwork, signage, movie memorabilia, and industrial artifacts from its previous life. The addition of 50 plus flat screens creates a sports bar scene unrivaled in RI.

Fifteen professional quality pool tables, along with the official home of the New England Pool and Billiards Hall of Fame, make Snookers ground zero for the pool enthusiasts in N.E.

Two full bars, a dining room and outdoor patio lend themselves to a hip, fun-filled atmosphere. Our kitchen serves a wide variety of generous portion dishes at very reasonable prices. We have private rooms that accommodate parties of 10 to 275 people, with a catering menu to satisfy any need.

Snookers is a great place to meet friends, entertain guests, or just hang out enjoying craft beers, great food, and good times.
