SolarCity Will Soon Be Available to Rhode Island Homeowners

SolarCity, America’s number one solar power provider, will soon be available to Rhode Island homeowners.

Their MyPower solar loans will be available to homeowners in the National Grid territory of Coventry, Cranston, Cumberland, East Providence, Johnston, North Providence, South Kingstown, Warwick, West Warwick, and Woonsocket. Residents in other towns can sign up to be alerted as soon as service is available to their homes.

SolarCity’s service will require no upfront cost and cost as much as 20 percent less than traditional utility services. Payments will be based on the production of the solar energy system, just like a solar power purchase agreement, but homeowners can retain ownership of their panels.
