Suspect Arrested in Deadly Shooting Outside of Cigar Lounge in Pawtucket

Pawtucket Police announced an arrest has been made in the deadly shooting outside a cigar lounge in the city.

The incident occurred outside the Fab City Cigar Lounge on Newport Avenue shortly before 1 AM on Monday

Pawtucket police say that with the assistance of the Rhode Island State Violent Fugitive Task Force, an arrest was made Wednesday for the homicide of Qudus Kafo and assault on Bruno Vaz.

Suspect Arrested

The suspect is identified as Trequan Baker, age 29 from Cambridge Street in Providence. 

Baker will be arraigned Thursday morning at 6th District Court in Providence for the following charges:

Murder in the 1st degree

Discharging a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence-resulting in death

Discharging a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence-resulting in bodily injury

Carrying a pistol or revolver without a license
