Two Blackstone Valley Prep Students Earn Full Scholarships to Top Colleges

The public charter school made the following announcement.
“We’re filled with pride to announce two academically outstanding #BVPHS seniors will receive full, 4-year college scholarships thanks to #QuestBridge,” the school announced.

Blackstone Valley Prep (BVP) Mayoral Academy is a network of tuition-free public schools (a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit) chartered by the Rhode Island Department of Education.
"As a growing network that is part of the Charter School Growth Fund portfolio, BVP offers a high-quality public school choice to the families of Central Falls, Cumberland, Lincoln, and Pawtucket and currently serves 2,200 scholars in grades K-12 across six schools," says BVP. "Over the years we have received thousands of applications for our limited number of seats. For the 2021-2022 school year, we received 1,818 applications for approximately 225 seats."
QuestBridge bills itself as “a powerful platform that connects the nation's brightest students from low-income backgrounds with leading institutions of higher education and further opportunities.”
“We are an aggregator of excellence. By facilitating these exchanges, QuestBridge aims to increase the percentage of talented low-income students attending the nation's best universities and the ranks of national leadership itself,” said the program.
