Two Planes of Migrants Land on Martha’s Vineyard - and Florida Governor DeSantis Takes Credit

“Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard today were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations,” the statement said.

Massachusetts authorities and officials quickly responded.
“Currently immigrants are being dropped off on Martha's Vineyard by chartered flights from Texas. Many don't know where they are. They say they were told they would be given housing and jobs. Islanders we're given no notice but are coming together as a community to support them,” Massachusetts State Representative Dylan Fernandes Tweeted on Wednesday.
Fernandes represents the Vineyard, Nantucket, and Falmouth.
“The Baker-Polito Administration is in touch with local officials regarding the arrival of migrants in Martha's Vineyard," Baker representative Terry MacCormack said in a statement reported by NBC Boston. "At this time, short-term shelter services are being provided by local officials, and the Administration will continue to support those efforts."
