Union Leader Sabitoni Arrested by RI State Police on DUI Charges and Driving 81 MPH

Sabitoni, the Business Manager of Laborers' Local 271, was arrested early on Sunday morning.
He was cited for driving 81 MPH and driving under the influence.
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTAccording to the report, “At 12:07 AM, Troopers arrested Michael Sabitoni, age 55, of 22 Peppermint Lane, Johnston, RI for 1) Driving Under the Influence of an Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs- B.A.C. Unknown- 1ST Offense and 2) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.”
“The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 6 in the Town of Johnston. The subject was transported to Headquarters where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult,” said the report.
Sabitoni was a long-time political ally of former Governor Gina Raimondo. Now, he is supporting Governor Dan McKee’s candidacy in the 2022 gubernatorial election.
