UPDATED: Up to 2 Inches of Snow in Forecast for RI Wednesday Afternoon

The National Weather Service is now predicting that one to two inches of snow could be possible in Rhode Island Wednesday afternoon, after forecasting Tuesday as much as three inches could be possible. 

NWS Forecast 

Today: A chance of rain and snow before 11am, then snow. High near 37. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow likely, mainly before 10pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 29. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 49. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28. Light and variable wind.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: Rain likely, mainly after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Saturday: Rain mainly before 4pm. High near 53. Southeast wind 5 to 13 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Saturday Night: A chance of rain before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Breezy, with a west wind 17 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
