Rhode Island US Attorney's Office Evacuated

A female assailant walked into the US Attorney’s office and threw white powder earlier today. Medical and emergency personnel along with law enforcement was dispatched to 50 Kennedy Plaza at approximately 10:32 AM.

All floors except the first were evacuated following the incident, and police have taken a female suspect into custody. Her identity has not yet been released by police. 

The powder in question has been tested and confirmed to be a “nonthreatening” substance by officials on site, and the department. Samples will be sent to the FBI for further examination and identification of the white substance.
